Our Approach

"Space-whether physical or virtual-can have an impact on learning. It can bring people together; it can encourage exploration, collaboration, and discussion. Or, space can carry an unspoken message of silence and disconnectedness.  More and more we see the power of built pedagogy (the ability of space to define how one teaches) in colleges and universities. The single focal point at the front of the room sends a strong signal about how learning will occur."

-Diana G. Oblinger, EDUCAUSE President & CEO, Learning Spaces eBook

Learning Studios

Learning Studios provide a mixture of relaxed discussion and study areas, workspaces that expand or contract depending on the students' needs. Most of all, these spaces encourage active and collaborative learning, increase interaction between students and faculty, and provide a supportive environment - key benchmarks of student engagement that lead to student success! Critical features in Learning Studios are:
  • Flexibility
  • Comfort
  • Technology
  • Social Spaces
  • Sensory Stimulation
  • Lighting Control
